Job Description
PayPal Risk Product Development team is looking for a talented and highly motivated Solutions Architect to join the team. The ideal candidate is a self starter and self motivated individual with strong business consulting/technology skills, commitment to quality, positive work ethic and a "can do" attitude. The prospective candidate will be working with various cross functional groups (business and technology) devising and delivering cutting edge innovative solutions to mitigate fraud on PayPal!
Help us minimize Risk for PayPal and its users and combat Fraudsters as we add new financial instruments and systems, and build out our Risk infrastructure for the future.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Bridge between business, product and technology.
• Maintain a holistic view of the products and solutions in the organization.
• Understand the Risk business and how technology decisions impact the business.
• Translate business needs into technology solutions and roadmaps based on deep understanding of the business needs and products.
• Lead architecture and design of high impact projects that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, and time to market.
• Drive technical designs to consensus and approval as a leader within PayPal’s cross-functional technology team.
• Increase overall code, product, design and architecture quality in the organization
• Demonstrate ability to identify, define, create, and apply new architectural design patterns and standards to extremely complex problems.
• Research, assess, and recommend external technologies and products for their applicability to complex project requirements and contribute to the development of new company concepts. Build prototypes and convince businesses of the benefits of the new technologies.
• Represent Risk in external review boards.
• Identify and mentor critical engineering talent, identify and recruit technical leaders into the organization.

• Experience in the payments or ecommerce industry.
• Fluency in C++ and Java.
• Prior knowledge of Risk Management and Fraud Detection technologies in the Payments industry a plus.
• BSCS + 10 years or MS + 8 years
